Sentry Privacy Policy

Sentry ("we") is a dashcam and navigation app. This policy explains what the app collects, why, and the choices you have.

What stays on your phone

Video, audio (only if you turn on audio recording), GPS location, speed and motion-sensor readings are recorded to your phone's storage. They leave your phone only if you turn on cloud backup.

What we store in the cloud

• Account: your email address and name, if you sign in with email or Google (Firebase Authentication).
• Cloud backup (optional): the clips you choose to back up, their thumbnails, and trip details (route, times, distance, speeds, incidents). These are stored in Google Cloud (United States) under your account and are encrypted in transit.
• Crash reports: device model, OS version and app state when the app crashes (Firebase Crashlytics).
• Usage analytics: which screens and features are used, how long steps take, and device/app version (Firebase Analytics), tied to an app-instance ID and, once signed in, your account ID. We never send video, names, email addresses, search text, place names or GPS coordinates to analytics.

Services that receive data

• Google Maps Platform: your search text, approximate location (to rank nearby results) and route points, when you search or navigate.
• TomTom: your location while recording, if you use automatic road speed limits.
• Google AdMob: on the free plan, ads use your device's advertising ID and approximate location. Where required by law, we ask for your consent first. You can change this in Settings › Ad privacy choices, or reset your advertising ID in Android settings. Ads are never shown while you're recording or navigating.
• RevenueCat and Google Play: your purchase history and an anonymous ID (or your account ID once signed in) to manage Sentry Pro. We never see your card details.

Your choices

• Turn cloud backup off at any time in Settings.
• Delete a clip or trip and its cloud copy is deleted too.
• Settings › Delete account removes your account and every file and record we store for you.

Children

Sentry is meant for drivers and is not directed at children under 13.
